PDAMill Discontinues Palm OS Products

pdamill

Is this another precursor to the demise of the Palm OS? PDAMill, a game developer for mobile operating systems has recently announced the discontinuation of all of its Palm OS products.

From the PDAMill website:

"Palm OS Products Discontinued, New Platforms on the Horizon
Unfortunately, due to some of our Palm OS products literally working on a device by device basis and recent developments with the Palm OS platform itself, PDAmill is officially discontinuing all of our products for the Palm OS platform.

If you have purchased one of our Palm titles in the past, you can still access your purchase from the vendor you bought it from.
Alternatively, if you have a my.pdamill.com account, you shall find it in your products section."

Granted, you will not be able to purchase these games anymore, however, the demos of these programs are still available from The Internet Archive’s PDAMill pages.

I think that if developers start discontinuing their Palm products, this won’t really contribute to the future of Palm! On the other hand, their reasons sound good. Anyway, I’m glad I’m in the Windows Mobile Pocket PC market, which hopefully will keep growing for a while.
