Clinton Fitch Reviews Airscanner Mobile Antivirus 3.0.
Our good friend Clinton Fitch, over at Clinton Fitch (Dot) Com! just posted an excellent review of Airscanner Mobile Antivirus 3.0. Now, I had always believed that mobile devices running operating systems such as Windows Mobile were not prone to attacks from viruses, Trojan horses, spyware, and other malware threats. According to Clinton, however, there is an inevitable day coming where Antivirus on your Windows Mobile device is going to be required. In fact, he says, there are already some virus’ reported to be "in the wild" Contrary to my previous understanding of the architecture of mobile devices, Clinton found a significant need for this software, and even went so far as to include it in his Top 25 must have applications. Check out the full review at Clinton Fitch.

Doug – I think this image is linking to a protected area of clintonfitch … there’s a password pop-up everytime you refresh the page and the image is not loading.

True! My newsbreak RSS feeds for both JAMM and CF prompted me to sign in.
Regarding the virusses – As far as I know there also isn’t a lot of danger at the moment, but of course we can assume that the more popular WM devices get, the bigger the risk will be.
So the question is – start protecting your device now (so you know that you’re safe) but by the time the danger becomes you’ll probably have payed for a version upgrade – or wait until the risk becomes larger and it will defenitely be worth the money, and accepting the risk that your device gets infected in the mean time?
I’ll choose the last one for now, just try to play safe.
