MSN Soapbox – Microsoft’s YouTube Alternative


 

It’s official – Microsoft’s Soapbox is now open for public beta.  Soapbox is Microsoft’s user-upload video service.

Here’s how it stacks up against YouTube:

The nicest thing about Microsoft Soapbox Beta aside from support for more video formats is it’s cleaner and a more fluid interface compared to YouTube’s clunky one. YouTube, however is way ahead of the competition since it has been established for more than 2 years.  And with YouTube’s deployment into the mobile market already in progress, while Microsoft is just getting its foot through the door with standard viral video offers, will Microsoft’s Soapbox take off with users, or will it be left in the dust?
