Dell calls on Motorola’s Garriques | CNET News.com

Dell has hired Motorola’s Ron Garriques to run the company’s entire consumer business, it announced Friday.

I’m not sure what this will ultimately spell for the future of Dell in the mobile market space but here’s to hoping that this helps Dell come to the realization that there’s more out there than the laptop and PDA markets. Dell needs a set of fresh faces (which they are obviously aware of) to help bring them some new ideas – but I’ll help for free:

1 – UMPC or tablet … I don’t care which but they need to stop pitching other people’s gear

2 – Converged Anything … The Axim is top notch (still after all this time) so here’s to wishing they will add a pda/cell converged model to the lineup. They obviously can put out a quality device, so why not put out a couple quality devices.
