Technology News: Mobile Gambling: Will the US Join a Growing Market?
I’m sorry … but doesn’t your bloody phone bill cost enough without paying out your arse on simulated nickel slots with 20 lines costing about a buck a pull?
I’m not a gambler – never have been. I’ve been to Vegas as a child (thankfully), lived by the casinos in Council Bluffs, IA and the casinos in BlackHawk, CO aren’t far from home. I think in total I’ve spent MAYBE $100-200 in 10+ trips. Yea, I know… big spender. Something about “trust” when it comes to computer based gambling just doesn’t work for me mentally. I have a hard time trusting that the computer inside that annoying assed incessantly beeping box isn’t going to decide on it’s own that I shouldn’t win squat. And let’s be honest, luck has nothing to do with gambling anymore especially on the slots. The odds are programmed, every move is considered and plotted to give the payout to the casino and not to you. Sure some hit it big, but that’s just it timing. It’s a science in the casino…
Turn to handhelds for a second, and apply that “science” used in the casino. Oh wait you can’t … because the guy who you would normally wait to lose his last dime and walk away before you stole the seat and hit it big …is you and there is no seat. Hell there’s only one machine in this casino… and there’s no way you can apply science to it – you’re at the mercy of the programmer on the other end and you better believe the company running the service is gonna fire his happy arse the minute he starts letting you win.
I enjoy the games … don’t get me wrong. Slots, Blackjack, Poker – all fun. But giving away a lot of my hard earned money to someone who has done nothing but provide me with a smoke filled envirnoment and some loud video games? I’d rather give my hard earned money to someone like Dom over at Mastersoft Mobile Solutions who I know earned every penny of it … and have it cost me nothing every time I feel like gambling a bit.
No offense to my friends across the pond … but feel free to keep the mobile gambling for money stuff over there. Americans have enough gambling problems as it is.
Anyway … check out the article:

I don’t like gambling anyway, the only people that get rich from it are people that are rich already (since they are the ones that run the casino’s
), and it just causes a lot of problems to the gamblers that can’t stop when they should. Let me just keep playing Sudoku, Bejeweled, Nethack, etc. Much better.
