MobilitySite Review: Socket WiFi Companion

Doug strikes again on his conquest to take over the Internet review scene. Great review Doug…

From the review ….

One of the most common complaints I hear about the Dell Axim family of Pocket PCs is that it is simply too complicated to connect to a wireless network.  The Dell WLAN Utility is not intuitive, and often makes it frustrating and confusing for a new user to find, connect, and manage wireless networks.  With one swift stroke, however, Wi-Fi Companion offers an easy and reliable solution for all frustrated users of the Dell WLAN Utility.  It is the only program that provides you with all of the tools you need to effortlessly find, connect, and manage wireless networks.

Thanks for posting this, Brandon.

I included Wi-Fi Companion in our JAMM list of essential apps. Anyone who uses Wi-Fi to access the Internet regularly should have this program.

… I guess I never saw the need for it. I don’t really move around alot on wireless – but even when I have I never fely the need for a Wifi management application.

Not discounting the need or the program – just never felt the need.

Don’t get me wrong, Brandon, I hear exactly where you are coming from. Personally, I do not have a wireless network and do not go to a lot of places with hotspots, so I rarely use Wi-Fitravel and use Wi-Fi hotspots on the road a lot.
