A Place For Everyone
We recently became eligible for three Bloggie Awards and asked you to vote for us. As a reminder, the Bloggies are
awards chosen by the public and awarded to the best blogs. A "weblog" is defined as a page with dated entries. I was selected to be on the panel that chooses the Bloggie finalists. When I received the email notification, I was jacked up! I read it four times looking for the date I’d receive my $40,000 swag bag. I hope my Tux still fits. Should I get my teeth capped? Where did Tom Cruise get his done? Whose going to be at my table? I need a PA (personal assistant).
I momentarily put those concerns aside and set to work voting online. I was given 10 different categories to look at, and was told to vote for no more than 5 in each category. There were probably 25-30 in each category. I had some categories I was completely unfamiliar with, like Best African or Middle Eastern Weblog, and Best Craft Weblog. These are not my forte. Whoa, this wasn’t going to be easy. I ended up spending hours looking at weblogs I’ve never seen before. It was quite the learning experience.
I don’t want to share which one’s I liked and didn’t like at this time, because the voting isn’t done. But suffice it to say that there is a place for everyone. Those people you picked on in high school now have a cool weblog that you probably visit every day. Do you like arts and crafts? Cooking? Wine, chocolate or Middle East affairs? You can belong somewhere. You can be someone. Because there is a place for everyone. Nobody is a loser in this web. That’s my opinion.
