Big Giveaway – with a twist!
Our 1st Most Valuable Poster Prize
So I’m sitting here a while ago and Patrick drops me a line asking if I’d be interested in a little side project here at Just Another Mobile Monday. Now I’m definitely not one of the team with too much free time to devote to projects – but this one I’m more than happy to support.
Patrick and the JAMM team are happy to announce a new contest here on JAMM – and one that involves YOU and only YOU. Hang on… let’s step back a bit. The mobile community is just that, a community and without YOU the reader this site wouldn’t exist, the blogroll of other sites wouldn’t exist, and frankly I’d be sitting here still trying to figure out why the heck I couldn’t install my own server certifications. So, to that end we want to thank you the community… and we want to help create our own little community here on JAMM.
So, without further ado – Just Another Mobile Monday is proud to announce our first Most Valuable Poster recognition award. For this first one, will be giving away a Stowaway Universal Bluetooth Keyboard (recently reviewed HERE) … however like the title says there’s a twist. Read On!!!
As I mentioned before, we here at Just Another Mobile Monday are proud to be a part of the mobile community, and we want to reward the community that keeps us alive on the net. BUT – it would be waaaay to easy to just say pick a number, first post wins, whatever. So – here’s what you have to do:
Impress me. That’s it.
Ok – that’s pretty easy. So let’s add a bit of detail to what it takes to impress me and win the Stowaway Universal Bluetooth Keyboard. I’m NOT looking for someone to impress me by posting 4000 posts a day… I’m looking for someone to impress me by being part of our community and being a quality contributor in the comments. Throughout the month of January I will be reading the comments and taking notes. At the end of the month I’ll review everything that caught my eye and make a decision. The winner will be announced early next month.
As stated above we want to build a community of our own here on JAMM. We want YOU to feel like this is another bit of home … and the only way to do that is to have YOU get involved. So – impress me. Maybe you correct one of us on a post and give some great detail, maybe you teach us something new, maybe you just say something so off the wall that I laugh so hard my side hurts. Impress me. Notice I didn’t say impress Patrick or Doug or NoWire… ME!!! IT’S ALL ABOUT ME!!
Sorry – evil, self absorbed Brandon got out again.
This contest is something we are going to try and do on a regular basis … maybe not every month, but if this test run is a success you can plan on seeing more just like it. Think of it as our way of rewarding an MVP on JAMM.
Prize:

Platform: WM 2003 SE
Also Available: WM5, Palm,Symbian
Weight: 160 grams (about 5.6 ounces)

Anyone (except JAMM Staff) can win. All you have to do to win is impress Brandon with the quality of your posts the rest of this month. Number of posts WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED – Quality of the posts will. The contest will run from the date of posting through January 31, 2006. All posts will be judged evenly (since there’s only one judge) and my choice is final. Winner will be announced roughly the first week of February.

Great post, Brandon. Nice kick off to a great new contest.
Just in the interest of full disclosure, I want to be clear that this is a slightly used (very gently) keyboard. I used it only to the extent that I reviewed it here on JAMM, and then agreed that someone else could probably benefit from it. So, here it is. The EXACT keyboard you saw here on JAMM.
Now go figure out how to impress Brandon (here is a hint, I here he likes half empty glasses).

This is an awesome contest! For someone with a glass 1/3 full, Brandon, you sure have the fire burning for Jamm!

Oops, I guess I will need to start posting more comments out here than in the forum :p

I spend all month reading posts … and you can’t do better than OOOPPPSSS!!!
LOL … just kidding.
It’s about building community … I personally think the forums are part of the community. Don’t you?

I think Brandon should win the prize for that last comment.
Seriously, I agree with Brandon. The point of the contest is to build our community and increase dialogue and conversation between all of the folks who visit this site (whether you are a reader or a writer). This can be done both in the forums and here on the main page.

Cool down, Brandon :p
I fully agree that both the main site and the forum form the whole JAMM community. Unfortunately, unlike the main site which features lots of news everyday and (seems) simpler for comments to be posted, the forum needs some new posts or topics to attract the attention of the members. Hence, I try to be more active there, hoping the bricks I throw out will see quality posts in return.
