Encouraged by the recent press about Microsoft giving away laptop computers to "bribe" mobile website and reviewers into giving them good reviews, Ilium software has decided to give away its own software as well, and you can be a lucky recipient.
In a shameless attempt to drum up more activity on their blog (both posts and comments), Ilium software is going to start "bribing" readers to leave comments to their post. Every month, one lucky commenter will win some fabulous software or swag from Ilium.
Read on to learn how to win.
- Around the first of each month, Ilium will give away one of their titles (recipient’s choice, and you can choose one of their suites, so you could essentially get 3 or 4 programs bundled together) to someone who has commented on any of the posts on the Ilium blog in the previous month. People who have all the software they want can also choose some of their swag as a prize. Right now, Ilium swag translates to stylus pens. As an aside from the rules, I have several of these Ilium stylus pens, and they are fantastic. I keep one in practically every room.
- Ilium will pick the winner each month using a random number that is mapped to the comment IDs.
- To be eligible, comments must be legitimate, and somehow related to the original post. Comments must also be made on Ilium’s blog. Comments made on this site will not count toward the contest (but are also appreciated).
By the way, if you managed to miss the hubbub and uproar about Microsoft giving Vista PCs to bloggers, and the ethics of the bloggers taking them, check out NetSyd’s post from earlier this week. Frankly, like most folks, though, I think I’m already tired of the whole subject, and find the whole thing to be Much Ado About Nothing.
