The Invisio Q7 Bluetooth Hands Free Device — Coming Soon To a Galaxy Near You.

It is amazing to me, the strides that have been made in cellular and hands free technology.  It seems like just yesterday, the cellular phone was a giant box that looked more like a suitcase than the Star Trek style communicators we see today.

Then, not only did the phones get smaller, but we came up with ways to use them without using them.  First came Speakerphone.  Now, you could talk on the phone without actually holding it.  But this was not ideal, so along came hands free devices.  Tiny devices which wrapped around your ear and connected to your phone with a slim wire.  Nice, but the wire was a pain.

Shortly thereafter, Bluetooth became the standard.  Now, with a small ear bud and microphone, you can talk on the phone for hours without actually touching the phone.  Of course, this can lead to many embarrassing situations, many of which have been depicted in beer commercials involving pretty women and funny looking men.

Now, Nextlink offers the latest innovation in Bluetooth hands-free technology, the INVISIO Q7.   It uses Bone Conduction Technology developed for and used by SWAT Teams and Military Special Forces Units across the globe, making it ideal for noisy, windy, and even ultra-quiet environments.

The Invisio Q7 features a three button interface, rechargeable Li-ion battery (providing up to 5 hours of talk time and 300 hours of standby time), and a USB Travel Adapter which connects the headset to a computer for charging on the go.

The unique user exchangeable Soft Spring adapts perfectly to the contours of the ear, allowing easy use of eye wear and a supreme comfort. INVISIO Q7 supports both Bluetooth® V.1.1 and V.1.2 with Headset and Handsfree profiles, making it compatible with all Bluetooth® enabled mobile phones on the market.

I don’t see a price available yet … the device itself hasn’t launched (Q1 2007). The company also is based in Denmark so who knows how long it will take to get to market here in the US – but I want one!

Yeah, it looks really sweet. I had the same question about price. I have not seen anything yet.

Earbugs –

Saw this (and its “brother” the Q5) in the Jan/Feb issue of ID Magazine with list price of $199 for the Q7 and $149 for the Q5; pricey, but…

Can’t find any available, but some online stuff has indicated the RadioShack will carry it.

Good luck!

Thanks for that info, Technoroot. Looks like I may need to pay a visit to Radio Shack. :) Although I had heard a rumor that they would not be making their way to the United States markets for a while.
