Or otherwise known as: Windows Mobile Flaws Could Crash Your Phone. OH NOES!!!
via C|NET and TrendMicro
Surprise Surprise … Pocket IE not to be outdone by it’s bigger and much more capable brother Internet Explorer is vulnerable to a maliciously coded webpage that "When exploited, this vulnerability can cause a stack overflow, which
terminates IE and makes the mobile device unstable. An affected device
must be reset to resume using IE."
Out of curiosity … what’s the big frickin deal? Doesn’t PIE crash all the bloody time anyway? Is that not why we have all sought out alternatives to this most horrible piece of software? Try browsing on a smartphone with EDGE. If you aren’t a healthy mixture of homicidal and suicidal within 15 minutes … you must still be using Windows 98 on your laptop.
Part 2:
Quote: "When Pictures and Videos application tries to read a malformed
JPEG file, the device can hang for 10-15 minutes while attempting to
process the file. However, no error occurs during this period and the
user would have no indication as to why the device is not responding. "
Again … I don’t know about you, but when my BlackJack (and this is very rare) decides it wants to sit around and think about random things for absolutely no reason for more than about 3 minutes, I shut the thing off and start anew. If you’re crazy enough to sit there and stare at your smartphone/PDA for 10-15 minutes as it plays deaf, dumb and blind … You must still be using Windows 98 on your laptop.
Easy solutions here folks -
1. Run out and buy the best Anti-Virus program you can. (Sarcasm)
2. If PIE hangs your system … reboot it :) … then go download Opera Mobile or Minimo
3. If a picture hangs your system … reboot it :) — then re-evaluate where you are downloading your porn from. They might not be a reputable source. LOL

Spb Software House Gives Enterprises More Control Over Their Pocket PC With Kiosk 4.0
Posted by: dgoldring on Jan 31 2007 - 935 viewsSpb Software House announced, today, the release of Spb Kiosk 4.0, a new version of their famous enterprise-oriented application. The primary function of Spb Kiosk is to lock your Pocket PC, so that only the applications required by an enterprise can be accessed, thus converting a generic Pocket PC device into a specialized business tool.
The new release of Spb Kiosk uses advanced, low-level techniques to work with system drivers and intercept API calls. Now as a device administrator, you have true control over every application on the device. Only explicitly allowed executables can be started.

"The iPod — It’s Not Just for Baseball."
Posted by: Brandon Steili on Jan 31 2007 - 582 viewsI hate baseball. Ok, not hate - but heavily avoid like it has a Black Plague effect on the people who come into contact with it. I played as kid, I play when we have company parties, I don’t throw like a girl and I was a dammed good catcher, but try watching this crap on TV. Droooool-a-thon! I mean seriously … how many times do you need to check-up the guy on first - HE’S GONNA TRY AND STEAL NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO DUMMY!!!!
Well it turns out Baseball players don’t much like watching themselves on TV either. They do however like watching themselves on iPods - (makes the belly look smaller IMHO) - and my hometeam the Colorado Rockies are leading the way!
From the article:
Jennings actually thinks his iPod turned his whole season around.
He had a 6.60 ERA going into a May 1 start against the Braves when he and catcher Danny Ardoin sat down at his locker to look at his previous starts against the same group of hitters. And something clicked — not just through his earbuds, either.
“We looked at the pitches they were hitting against me before, and that night we sort of went a different way, and it worked,” Jennings said. “We lost the game [2-0], because Tim Hudson threw a one-hitter. But I threw the ball well. And after that start, I really took off from there.”
For the record, Jennings’ ERA from that day on was 3.31. Which, by Rockies standards, is the equivalent of about 1.31. So we’ll just amble out of the way now and watch about 700 pitchers stampede over to Best Buy.
Impressive … a nearly 50% drop in his ERA, all by viewing an iPod. Anyway, head on over to ESPN (use the link above which may or may not work) and check out the MLB article titled: Greatest hits, in the palm of your hand.
Sorry H8TRS … no mention of th Zune.

iRazr? Ok … now we’re getting a tad bit ridiculous.
Posted by: Brandon Steili on Jan 31 2007 - 1,315 views
But just in case you’ve gotten all kinds of excited … and you’re rockin a MotoRazr, get it while you can. Because if history has taught us anything, Apple won’t let this sit on the web for long before someone gets in trouble
Oh … and if the link stops working, and you really need it, let me know.

Now, Even Steamboat Willie Keeps Your Data Safe
Posted by: dgoldring on Jan 31 2007 - 1,126 views
It seems like, these days, they will make a USB Drive in the shape of just about anything. I’ve seen them in the shape of animals, twigs, even picture frames. So, of course it was only a matter of time before Disney got in on the action. MobilitySite is now reporting that Steamboat Willie, Winnie the Pooh, and even Stitch from Lilo and Stitch can hold hold up to 512 MB apiece on a USB 2.0 compatible flash drive. Personally, I am holding out for Lightning McQueen.
