Finally – ROM Update for Dell Axim X50 Series Running WM5

Dell has released the long awaited update for Dell Axim X50/X50v owners running Windows Mobile 5. I think many of us thought this would never get released – so very good news for long-suffering Axim X50 and X50V owners!

Fixes and Enhancements:
1. OS 5.1.195(Build 14957.2.3.1)
2. Wireless roaming enhancement.
3. Improve CF memory card sometimes disappear.
4. CF modem driver improvement.
5. Microphone recording enhancement
6. ActiveSync connection improvement.

This does not seem to fix the main problem with WM5 and the x50v, which was the static memory and the differences in how memory is handled and read in WM 2003SE vs WM5.

So, will this new version solve the problems x50v users have had with WM5, or will it just fix some of the tangential side issues?

I am curious to hear from anyone who has used the new ROM. What do you think?
