OH NOES!!! Y2K-07 is going to kill us all!!!!


 

Ok. Just kidding…. but it might give you a bit of a hassle given the updated version of Daylight Savings Time that our esteemed governmental body decided to implement beginning next year.

In some ways reminiscent of the Y2K problem that emerged seven years ago, 2007 will see a calendrical change that will potentially confuse gadgets. Thanks to a new U.S. federal law, in 2007 DST will be observed from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November, adding about a month to daylight saving time.

You’ve probably noticed that your device automatically changes with the coming and going of DST. But unless you patch your device, or have a device that has the latest information programmed into it, your calendar appointments will be off for a couple weeks. Patching is required on machines of all types, including Pocket PCs.

Thanks. I had completely forgotten about the screwed up DST in 2007. The hack listed on M$’s website seems dubious at best… I think I’ll look for an update on HP’s website…
