Creepy Crawly Burn Marks and Other Fun From Your Childhood.
This has nothing to do with mobile devices, but it is interesting as a reminder of how times have changed. Back in the 1960′s (and no, I do not remember them), one of the more popular toys was the 1964 Creepy Crawler Thingmaker from Mattel.
The Thingmaker worked by pouring a tubes of "plastigoop," over an extremely hot surface and then cast into the molds of various multi-colored critters. The results? Fingerprint removal. At least those who dodged serious injury or disfigurement could safely eat their creation. Oh wait, the critters were toxic, too. But this was the ’60s, and though there was an outcry from the singed and sickened masses, Mattel went right on marketing their electric ovens to children.
Today, this popular toy from another era was ranked number 7 in the Radar Report list of the Top 10 most dangerous toys of all time. Follow the link above to find out why lawn darts was rated the most dangerous toy of all time, and to see the complete list.

Creepy Crawlers made a comeback back in the 88/91′s. I remember the C-R-E-E-E-PY Crawlers TV advertisements as a child.

I remember TV advertisements when I was a child for this. Putting some on dad’s glasses etc. That was back during 89-90′s time period.

being a child of the 60′s I strongly remember my creepy crawlers and monster maker toy. this was a very popular toy and was completely loved by me. probably my favorite. i smile at the memory of how insanely dangerous this toy was and the burns i got… times are very different. There were few parts of this toy that werent 400 degrees. best toy of all time.

Ahhhh…the smell of burning plastic and the shieks of the children as the fingers were burning…ahhh the blisters… the coolest toy. The best birthday gift I ever received!!! The green goo still lingers in my heart. They just don’t make toys like that anymore.
