Real Mobile Device Management with MobiControl
![]()
MobiControl’s complete suite of remote device management and support tools continues to empower enterprises with the tools they need to centrally manage and support their mobile field forces.
Soti has released a new version of MobiControl – MobiControl v3.06 – and its feature set looks very impressive. Some of its key updated features include:
Over-the-Air Device Wipe: Delete data stored on a lost/stolen device.
Improved Lockdown: Permit end-users to only access approved web sites/programs.
Connection Modes: Devices can connect to servers persistently, on schedule, or when initiated by users.![]()
Performance: Enhanced performance on slow networks and improved battery life on cellular devices.
Package Dependencies: Enforce the order in which applications and settings are installed.
Device Side Scripts: Specify pre and post file synchronization scripts.
MobiControl really looks like a complete mobile device management solution. It offers far more than you can do via Exchange and its in-built device management tools. And if the Desktop PC model is anything to go by, I would not expect Microsoft to offer any complete device management solution to match products like MobiControl either. They will most likely leave this to other software vendors – and Soti looks to be one of the clear leaders in this field.
Another nice looking thing about MobiControl is its pricing model – which looks very reasonable and realistic, and starts with a minimum of 10 devices.
I have not (yet) tried MobiControl. I’d be interested to see whether there is any performance and / or stability hit for devices working with MobiControl.
If you’re managing a number of devices, this really looks like a solution that is worth looking at. For a full product tour, all the details and pricing info, visit:
