What’s With All The Landscape iPAQs?

Source: Brighthand.com

Brighthand has a piece up highlighting a couple of new iPAQ models that are apparently soon to be launched by HP – the iPAQ rx4240 and rx4540.

These two are going to be part of the ‘Mobile Media Companion’ family from HP, and are in landscape mode by default. They’ll run Windows Mobile 5, and will feature the heavily rounded look to their casing as seen in the pic above.

The change to landscape by default for these models still feels odd to me, even though I realize this goes along with the new media-focused aim for these.

After years of owning iPAQs, I still just find it hard to think of these Media Companion guys as *real* iPAQs.

What do you guys think of the new landscape, media-centric iPAQ lines?
