Boxwave Battery Adapter Review
Posted by: Steve Laser on Nov 30 2006"The first rule of Fight Club is - you do not talk about Fight Club. The second rule of Fight Club is - you DO NOT talk about Fight Club. Third rule of Fight Club, someone yells Stop!, goes limp, taps out, the fight is over. Fourth rule, only two guys to a fight. Fifth rule, one fight at a time, fellas. Sixth rule, no shirt, no shoes. Seventh rule, fights will go on as long as they have to. And the eighth and final rule, if this is your first night at Fight Club, you have to fight."

Receiving the Unit
That’s right, the first thing I did when I received the Boxwave Battery Adapter was to load it with brand new, freshly charged Duracell 1.2v 2650NiMH batteries and repeatedly play the movie Fight Club. More specifically, I charged my Dell Axim x50v battery to 100%, then I played the movie until the battery adapter stopped supplying power and the Axim started using its own power. I just wanted to measure how much power the battery adapter would provide above and beyond the battery in the Axim. And remember, the Dell Axim is a power hungry machine. If you use any other pda, chances are it uses far less power so you’ll get even better results.
Five hours and one minute! That’s round trip from Chicago to Miami. Most movies are one and a half to two hours, so you can watch one movie each way and have time for an inflight snack - if you have the $5.00 for the crackers! The nice thing about this charger is that it holds 4 AA batteries that cost $8-$10 and are very common. It also works with standard batteries.
Features
It provides up to 5 recharging cycles, it’s made out of rugged plastic and features an on/off switch with an LED light to let you know if it’s working. It has a usb plug and needs a usb to Axim dongle to work with your Axim (see my picture). It’s very simple to use.
In Conclusion
I highly recommend this product. It performed flawlessly, added tons of extra battery life for long trips, was easy to use and at $19.50 is priced competitively. Find it at Boxwave Battery Adapter.
