I found a program “cntexp” from tntSOFT.COM. $10. to download. Works great - exports all contacts from a simcard to a text file. then easy to import to excel or outlook.

Bruce - Check in the included applications. I could have sworn there was a sim-card manager application in there that will transfer them all for you.

Just got the blackjack. 1st task was to move all my contacts from the sim card of my old nokia “not so smart phone”. Well the samsung let’s you copy them 1 contact at a time, at about 6 clicks to copy each. times 200 contacts….Ugh!!!! even the Nokia let you copy the whole card. I guess it’s gonna be more painful going from dumb to smart than I thought!

Wait!! –

Don’t get me wrong here. Smartphone OS is horrible. The device rocks. Given the opportunity to have a Cingular build of WM5 PPC version loaded on it tomorrow I’d be all over it. For now though, the OS is “livable” … not lovable.

I’m telling you … it’s a lot like the Dash/Q — you’re either going to love it or hate it. There’s no middle ground with this device .I’m definitely of the love it variety =)

This phone is really starting to get some love. I notice Chris Leckness, who runs Aximsite, Mobility Site and others, and who is *not* traditionally a smartphone fan at all, is choosing to keep hold of one of these:

Try PTab Spreadsheet for Smartphone to edit Excel docs. Haven’t found anything for Word doc editing though.

You’re right … I guess that wasn’t the most accurate way to phrase that. You definitely can press and hold the home key to access the tadk management app, and do all tha you said. No arguement there. I guess what I was trying to say was there’s no options to use somerhing like Magic Button to easily and quickly close apps. I think we all view task management a little differently … for me it’s quickly closing out the application when I leave it. The ither thing tha lead me to say that was things likr Flexwallet… try multitasking with that app and you’ll quickly learn to hate passwords.

The center button trick I tried … never seemed to get me out (atleast on eBay). Opera however worked great. I always got the bong/warning sound ….

Task Management = non-existant is incorrect. Press and hold the home button and the task manager pos up. Options include closing app, closing all apps, or changing to another open app.
