Cingular Launches Treo 680

Source: Engadget

The Treo 680 on Cingular is finally here just about – to launch at the end of this week (24th), and to go for around $199 with a two-year contract apparently.

This is the long-awaited ‘entry-level’ Treo – it runs Palm OS, and has lost the external antenna (just as the Treo 750 has). The rest of its spec is not very remarkable.

There had been rumors that this phone would come  out for a lot less than $200. I’m not sure it stacks up very well against recent Windows Mobile phones like the Dash, Blackjack, Q etc at this price. It does get a good (but not gushing) review at Laptop magazine though.
