Matt Miller has a very good post up at his The Mobile Gadgeteer blog site, asking what makes a Blackberry a compelling device today – and coming round to an answer of ‘not much’.

I have wondered a lot over recent months just how Blackberry can compete against far more capable devices – and usually just end up thinking of their large installed base and major foothold in corporate environments.

It seems that even their newer models with some multimedia capabilities and cameras are too little, too late in terms of coming anywhere close to matching what’s available on Windows Mobile, Palm, and Symbian devices.
