Welcome to the Social – Zune Official Site Launches

Via: TechCrunch

The official Zune site – Zune.net – has launched, as part of the buildup to the Zune’s launch on November 14th.

The site carries that ‘Welcome to the Social’ tagline, has lots of ‘social’ sort of elements / efforts on it, as well as pages showing off accessories, events, Zune advertisements, and some details on the Zune Marketplace (for buying one-time or subscription music).

Netsyd – I didn’t find the Comments section yet, but I’m betting you will.

Check the site out at:

Nope – no comments/forum area as of yet. There’s a great picture however of the Brown Zune laying in the grass down by someone’s feet – much like a present your dog would have left you. It’s almost like they can see the future =P

I also did some poking around the site. $14.99 per month for full access to the entire library (not too shabby but still higher than some), Microsoft “points” can be shared between the Zune portal and Xbox live portal – that’s handy – and they are preloading some songs from “unknown” bands. Atleast they have something going over Apple – they are preloading songs. Now the problem becomes how do I get stuff preloaded that suits my musical tastes? I’m pretty sure that if my wife and I buy a Zune – we won’t want the same things pre-loaded. Don’t preload if I can’t chose what to preload! Oh, and they are nice enough to “pre-load” some pictures for you. Nothing thrills me more than having pre-loaded advertisements~!!
