Samsung ‘SYNC’ Launched on Cingular

Source: Engadget

Cingular launched the Samsung SGH-A707 – or SYNC – today. It’s touted as a very multimedia / music-oriented device. This is another device that could easily get you thinking about the threat that cellphones / smartphones are going to be to iPods, Zunes, and all dedicated music players.

It’s going to be priced around $50 (with a contract / rebates apparently) – and it’s a 3G clamshell, with touch-sensitive external music controls, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, a 2-megapixel camera, and microSD expansion.

And it will feature a Cingular Music button on the keypad, for easy access to the newly launched Cingular Music services.

For lots of people who are very much against carrying more than one device around all day, I would think phones of this sort are going to make a very tempting alternative to PMP devices.
