Winners - Zen Sudoku Contest

The winners are: eagles, kawc, alfromcal

The correct year was 1956 - when Don Larsen threw a perfect game for the New York Yankees in the World Series. Eagles got the year exactly correct and kawc and alfromcal were the next closest.
