There are reports at a couple of sites in the last few days saying that Samsung is getting ready to launch some new smartphones that will run on its own home-grown OS, rather than on Windows Mobile, Symbian, or Palm.

That just sounds senseless right?  Why do we need another mobile OS flavor?  If you’re a developer, any interest in having to cater for yet another mobile platform?

Hope that rumor is not true …
