"I think I like it."

That’s Jack Cook’s quick first verdict on the specs for the new hw6940 iPAQ model.  That’s a very good omen, because he is a long-time iPAQ expert and has seen, worked with, and shared huge knowledge on a long line of these devices.

I find it hard to get past the big, chunky look of the iPAQ 65xx and 69xx models, but this one does seem to pack a pretty strong spec. There’s a great demo video of it up at the HP site (see link below) if you want to see all the features and some glitzy rendering of them.

I’ve never owned an iPAQ converged phone device, but owned (and loved!) several generations of their straight PDAs when they were the unquestioned king of the Windows Mobile PDA hill.  As I’ve mentioned before, I don’t feel any huge urge to go grab one of these new models, but I would very much like to see HP and the iPAQ line become more of a force again.
