THE Complete Rundown of What To Use for Pocket PC Screenshots
Screencap taken with Vidya Screen Capture 1.0.9
Menneisyys has done it again. This year he is one of the judges in the Utilities / Screen Capture category for the Smartphone & Pocket PC Magazine Best Software Awards 2006 – so he’s decided to update his rundown of how to get the best results when trying to do screenshots of your Pocket PC device.
In this article, he has chosen to leave out applications that control your mobile device as well as taking screenshots, as he’s done a separate breakdown of those. So this roundup features desktop and purely PDA based apps that do screen captures and that do not also control your PDA.
As always with Menneisyys, the rundown is lengthy and absolutely thorough. It includes lots of screencaps taken with the apps reviewed as well as a pretty extensive report on the features, limitations, and performance of each program. For example, do you want to know which apps are great in lots of ways, but cannot handle true VGA or landscape? You’ve got that answered here very quickly.
Two nice things that stuck out for me in this review: it is great to see that Menneisyys is judging (at least) one category at the well-respected Smartphone & Pocket PC Best Software awards this year. Honestly, I wouldn’t argue if he was a judge in every category.
Also, nice to see Vidya Screen Capture get such a high rating. I’ve been using Vidya for quite a long while, and have always found it excellent to work with.
