Q Update Arrives – Good News for Q Owners and Microsoft?

A fair bit later than originally expected, but the AKU2 update for the Moto Q is out today. This offers Microsoft’s Messaging & Security Features Pack (MSFP) for push email and enhanced device security, amongst other new features and capabilities.

I would think this is good news not just for Q owners but, given the popularity of the Q, very good news for Microsoft in getting another high-profile WM device out there that’s capable of push email and the rest of the enhanced security contained in the MSFP.  Presumably this helps push the device – and WM devices in general – with corporates.

Bah … the Q is a marketing toy. I tried it and within 10 seconds knew it wasn’t half the device my 8125 is. I’m sure it’s right for someone, definitely not for me. I got the same vibe from the Cingular 8125 when I tried it. Something about not having a touch screen just completely turned me off.

Besides, the name reminds me too much of some nasty green bottled medicine I blacked out after taking LOL
