“It is now extremely simple to snap a quick picture with your PDA’s camera, jot a note on it, and email it off to those who need a quick visual image to get the point you want to make.”

Iain Barclay, Electric Pocket’s co-founder and chief products officer

Electric Pocket is today announcing a new version of their classic BugMe application – BugMe Mobile. The new version supports Windows Mobile 5, and offers some nice new features too.

BugMe!, which is nearing its 10-year anniversary as the top note-taking and alarm application for mobile devices, has been updated significantly in this latest release. One of the most notable new features is the ability for users to use the photo picker feature and camera of Windows Mobile 5 devices to capture “screen shots” off their handheld, insert a handwritten or typed note onto the image, and then email the image to friends, family or co-workers.

The new version’s features include:

  • Supports Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC
  • Use any photo or picture as a note background
  • Take screenshots, and use them as notes Send notes by email or MMS
  • Record voice notes
  • Full color support
  • Thumbnail views
  • Repeating alarms
  • Lockable notes
  • Integration with ActiveSync and the Today screen

I believe our resident cartoonist may have some views already on this version. For more information and a trial download, visit the Bugme for PPC page:
