SnoopSoft Dashboard v3 ??!! Google Calendar Support ??!!

Have you ever been so shocked and excited by news of an application that you wanted to giggle? Well that was me a little while ago. After 9 months since the last update (and honestly a loooonng time before that since the last version), Snoopsoft rather quietly has been working towards Dashboard Version 3. Not to mention a Google Web Calendar app!!!

From the website -

The overall goal of SnoopSoft Dashboard is to provide simple and streamlined access to
the information that’s most important to you today.
Since 2000, SnoopSoft Dashboard has been doing just that through the use of "virtual" views
of the Today page for Microsoft Windows Mobile devices. By splitting
your information out into multiple views, you can see more detailed data
right off the Today page in a simple and elegant manner. It’s like having
eight Today pages easily accessible on your device! SnoopSoft
Dashboard balances increased access to information while reducing
unnecessary features that can bloat or cause confusion.

Innovation

SnoopSoft Dashboard has many firsts in the Windows CE/Pocket PC area including:

  • First to support virtual views on the Today Screen (5 with version 1.0; 8 with version 3.0)
  • First to support images on the Today Screen (version 1.0)
  • First to support Landscape and hires (via Jimmy Landscape and Nyditot)
  • First to support font sizes on the Today page (version 1.1)
  • First to support Theme’s based on time of day or day of week/month
  • First program to support user-customized Today separator lines
(only works for Today modules shown within SnoopSoft Dashboard). No more
boring simple lines – use color, patterns, images! (version 2.1)

Google Calendar Support / Plugin

SnoopSoft is introducing a Google Calendar plugin for the Windows
Mobile Today page that for the very first time will bring together ALL
of your Calendar information on one screen (the default Pocket PC
Calendar, Google Private Calendars and Google Public Calendars)!

SnoopSoft is exited to announce the availability of our WebCalendar plugin for
handheld devices running the Windows Mobile 2003, 2003 SE or Windows Mobile 5 OS!

Disclaimer:
SnoopSoft WebCalendar is completely dependent on other software providers who are still in beta
testing with their own offerings (i.e. Google Calendar). As such, functionality may change and
the end results can not be guaranteed. However, SnoopSoft finds great potential in this module
and will work very hard to keep it functional with any changes made by Google to their Calendar
interfaces. Also, as other public calendar interfaces are made available they will be added
to this module at no charge as soon as we can get them working (i.e. Yahoo! Calendar; Microsoft Live Calendar).

From me –

Snoopsoft Dashboard was the orginal. They did it first and they did it best. Spb Diary, SBSH PocketBreeze, etc … they all came later, by atleast a couple years. Snoopsoft made Windows CE useable, skinable, and functional. When I started using a PPC, Dashboard was still v1 and the most gotta have it application around. Now? They’ve fallen behind Spb and SBSH because of a lack of new releases and support for WM5. Honestly, I thought they were completely off the map and no longer developing. Now? I have to hope they have fallen behind only to spring back into the lead because really – I did giggle, then I opened my wallet. I’ve dropped down my roughly $17 for both applications, because I think they have a shot a making a great old application number one again, and I wanted to help them get it off the ground. There is no Demo yet, so I bought it on chance … I can say my x51v hasn’t crashed running it, and it looks to be pretty solid. I’ve seen a few bugs/glitches and a bit of slowness, but it’s a beta so its to be expected.

Review coming to this site soon!!! I’m off to play with my new "toy".

PS – Patrick … can you add the tags? For some reason mine won’t do it… Thx

Wow, great stuff. I even forget that I own this program. I got it almost two years ago, and haven’t been using it (for lack of updates), but now I’m pretty excited.

Geez, the bad thing is, lot of my info was changed, and can’t seem to get pass the orderlookup page… sigh… Oh well, I emailed snoopsoft, hopefully I can hear from them soon.

:D

Hey netsyd, could you shoot me the BETA while I’m waiting for snoop’s reply? No biggie, if not possible…

Thanks.

Lemme see what I can do. I’m waiting for a logon just like you are, since I’ve never been able to use the order lookup page. I bought Dashboard a copule years back, but I was outside the 2 year window, so I had to buy again.

Thanks Netsyd.

lol. I might just have to do that also (buy again). I got mine on August 28, 2004, pretty close to 2 years…
Anyway, I was expecting a little bit more fast response from snoop, but so far no reply. sigh.
