Test Your Windows Mobile Device’s (Web) Speed

Mobile speed test screenshot

Feeling smug about the blazing web-browsing speed on your new smartphone? Or maybe a little un-impressed at some sluggish transfer rates? If you want a quick way to test your Windows Mobile device’s speed, and to have a look at which carrier networks are setting the standards for data rates, check out:

Just browse to it from your smartphone or PDA browser and away you go. As a Cingular customer, nothing to cheer about on their network rankings (topped by Sprint and Verizon), but happy to see that my 8125 outperformed the averages given on the first page.

Found this via Keith Combs’ Technet blog post, which is at:

Actually, with 0 bar’s showing and a faint signal in 1XRTT with Sprint PCS, my speed shows

31 kbit/sec
1.924s latency.

What are you all getting with your devices/connections?
