Podcasts are great. I spend way too much time staring at PC screens, and also of course at much smaller, mobile device screens. I can partly blame that on my job as an IT Consultant (ok, computer geek is how most would describe it) – but even when work is done I still spend countless hours in front of these.

So, I’m rapidly becoming a bigger and bigger fan of podcasts. Once you’ve found a few you enjoy, they’re a great way to rest the eyes a little and still take in lots of interesting and useful information on all your favorite subjects.

Here’s a very short list of some that I would recommend on mobile and other ‘tech’ type subjects:

Mobility Podcasts:

• Mobility Guys – http://www.mobilityguys.com/ – Four Microsoft MVPs on mobile devices with a ton of combined years of running or contributing to some top-notch mobile sites
• Mobility Today – http://mobilitytoday.com/archive.php?c=22&type=n – from David Ciccone, founder of one of the first great mobile sites, Dave’s Ipaq
• Mobile Messenger podcast series from SearchMobileComputing.com – http://tinyurl.com/ghyql - good enterprise-level coverage of mobile solutions and topical issues

Technology & Geek-Friendly Podcasts:

• Security Monkey Podcast episodes – http://tinyurl.com/z23rv – derived from the excellent and award-winning blog, A Day In The Life of an Information Security Investigator – this blog and the podcasts are superb – even if you don’t have any interest in Infosec, it’s just so well written and presented you’ll get hooked anyway
• Security Now – http://www.grc.com/securitynow.htm – very well-presented and hugely informative on a very wide range of security topics
• In The Trenches – http://www.kevindevin.com/ – the podcast for sysadmins
